Describing every figure in order can produce a report that reads like a spoken spreadsheet. Grouping related information helps the reader see the larger relationship.

The overview and body-paragraph guidance in the source 5 IELTS Wrting.epub distinguishes a broad pattern from supporting detail. Use that distinction in this original data exercise.

Identify what the values measure

Check the category, unit and time period before looking for a trend. A change in the number of visits is different from a change in the number of individual visitors. Keep the label supplied by the data.

Invented practice data: annual visits

CentreYear 1Year 2
A200320
B180260
C150140

Choose a grouping that reveals something

A and B rose, while C fell slightly. That contrast provides a useful grouping. A also remained the largest of the three. These observations give the reader more direction than three unrelated pairs of numbers.

Write a broad comparison

“Visits increased at centres A and B but declined slightly at C. Centre A recorded the highest total in both years.”

This captures the main relationships. A later sentence can supply figures to show the size of the changes.

Do not let the grouping hide an exception

“All centres became more popular” contradicts C's fall and replaces measured visits with an interpretation about popularity. Keep the description tied to the actual measure and include the contrasting category.

Draft one paragraph for the increases and another sentence or paragraph for the contrast, as appropriate to the complete task. Grouping is a planning decision, not a requirement to force every chart into the same number of paragraphs.

When reviewing, underline each comparative statement and trace it back to the data. The report should reveal relationships without inventing explanations for them.
