Study in the UK

Study abroad · United Kingdom

The UK hosts four of the world’s top ten universities and a two-year post-study Graduate route. The process is document-heavy but predictable: offer, CAS, funds, visa.

Step 1 — Secure your offer and CAS

Apply to a licensed student sponsor and accept an unconditional offer. Your institution then issues a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) with a unique reference number — you cannot apply for the visa without it. Check every detail on the CAS the day it arrives; errors cause refusals.

Step 2 — Hold the required funds for 28 days

Show course fees for one year plus monthly living costs held for 28 consecutive days (higher inside London than outside — check the current monthly figures before you apply, as they change). The money must be in your name or a parent’s, with a birth certificate and consent letter if it is a parent’s account.

Step 3 — Apply for the Student visa

Apply online with your CAS number, funds evidence, TB certificate (required in listed countries), and proof of English at the required CEFR level. Pay the Immigration Health Surcharge as part of the application — it funds your NHS access from arrival.

English proof for UK study

Universities set their own IELTS or equivalent thresholds; visa purposes may require a UKVI-approved test centre. Prepare with Jobins Training English courses and book the correct test format first time.

After arrival: Graduate route

Completing a UK degree qualifies most graduates for two years of unsponsored work (three with a PhD). Keep your address, police registration where required, and visa documents in order throughout your course.
