01 · Know what the speaking test asks of you
Prepare for a responsive professional conversation, not a memorised speech.
02 · Read the situation before you speak
A useful opening begins with the context on your card.
03 · Find the concern beneath the first answer
A practical objection can conceal a different worry.
04 · Gather information one useful question at a time
Begin with space for the patient’s account, then clarify the details that matter.
05 · Turn an explanation into an exchange
The patient’s response tells you what to explain next.
06 · Acknowledge emotion without promising an outcome
Be specific about the feeling and honest about what you can offer.
07 · Give the conversation a clear direction
Help the patient follow the conversation without making it sound rehearsed.

Strong language is precise, flexible and suited to the person listening.

OET Speaking Course Questions
Does Course 1 cover all four OET skills?
No. OET Speaking for Nurses – Course 1 focuses specifically on the Nursing Speaking sub-test. It does not include Listening, Reading or Writing preparation.
Is this an official OET course?
Jobins Training provides independent preparation. No OET endorsement, accreditation or affiliation is implied.
Are model answers personalised feedback?
No. Model dialogues and their commentary are prepared teaching resources. They help you notice effective communication choices and reflect on your own practice.
